 CANCUN TOURS
Many of the activities you may wish to do, you can get to on your own via taxi or public bus. However, the majority of attractions are located outside of Cancun City or the Cancun hotel zone so you need to rent a car or take a tour. There are pros and cons to both.
As mentioned, if you wish to visit one of the islands near Cancun like Isla Mujeres or Cozumel you can take public busses to the ferry docks in either Cancun or Playa del Carmen. For attraction in the hotel zone you can easily take the public bus. Just ask the people at the front desk of your hotel what bus to take and where to get it. You can also take a taxi.
